KAITTS Ltd Data Protection Policy

The kaittsactive.de, kaittsdirect.de, kaittsdirect.com, kaittsprosol.de, kaittsprosol.com, kaitts.de, kaitts.com websites are operated by KAITTS Ltd. (KAITTS). We are committed to protecting your privacy when you are using our online services. To protect your privacy, we apply five principles which you can read about below.

During our registration process, we ask for personal information which both identifies you and enables us to communicate with you.  We also invite you to tell us your interests so that we can make our communications relevant and interesting for you.

1. Your Login Details

If you choose to access the secure order pages (Your Account Area), which are designed for registered users only, you are only able to access these with your email as username and a selected password (which only you should know). Because we cannot guarantee the confidentiality of information sent on the Internet you should never send your password via e-mail.

2. Mailings to you

Occasionally, we may email you with details of new products and services or offers. Should you not wish to receive these emails, you can request to be removed from our mailings by either replying or sending an email to unsubscribe@kaittsdirect.com with "unsubscribe" in the subject field. If you have registered more than one email address with KAITTS, please list all of your email addresses to be removed from our mailings in the body of the email.

You may continue to receive mailings for a short period while your change is being processed.

3. Data Protection

The Data Protection Act 1998 ("the Act") regulates the processing of personal information or data. The Act seeks to protect the rights of individuals by (1) setting out the conditions under which the processing of personal information is lawful, (2) the rights of data subjects and (3) the standards of quality that must be maintained. KAITTS is committed to respecting the rights of data subjects and complying with the Act.

The information given to us by you may contain your or another person’s personal data ("the personal information"). By applying for our services or entering into any agreement with us, whether or not you become a customer, you acknowledge that, in order to process any instruction or enquiry and carry out actions related to any enquiry and/or marketing by us ("the Purpose"), we may use, store or otherwise process any personal information, including that provided by you to us in making any application for the KAITTS service under the agreement between us and you for the provision of the KAITTS service to you, or otherwise in conjunction with your subsequent use of the KAITTS service. You confirm that you are entitled to disclose information about any third party named on an Application Form. You freely consent to the processing and disclosure of your personal information for the Purpose.

We will use the information you provide only for the following purposes:

To send updates regarding the status of your orders
To send you newsletters and details of offers and promotions in which we believe you will be interested
To improve the content, design and layout of the KAITTS websites and to facilitate knowledge management
To understand the interests and buying behaviour of our registered users
To perform other such general marketing and promotional activities focused on our products and services. We may also register you for our other services which we feel may be useful or of interest to you.
Very occasionally, KAITTS may share your details with carefully selected third parties for general marketing and promotional activities.  However, if your communication preferences show that you have chosen NOT to receive such information from third parties, then of course your details will not be shared. You can edit your communications preferences at any time via the 'Your Account' section of our websites.

We sometimes use other companies to provide services to you or to provide services to us. To enable them to do this, we may need to share your personal information with them. When we do so, these companies are required to act in accordance with the instructions we give them and they must meet the requirements of the Data Protection Act to keep information secure.

Should the Purpose for which KAITTS uses your personal information change, this page will be updated and a notice will specify the changes. You will have the option to decline to have your personal data held for such changed purposes by notifying us at compliance@kaittsdirect.com.

We may transfer or disclose personal information to any company within the KAITTS Group, our professional advisers and to such other parties as we consider may assist in the administration of the KAITTS services or the provision of other related services. For the Purpose described above, personal data may be processed in countries which do not have data protection laws that are as comprehensive as those in the UK.

Personal data will be retained for a reasonable time after enquiries are received by KAITTS (whether or not an agreement is subsequently entered into) and/or for a reasonable time after any resultant action or agreement has expired. You have the right, upon payment of a fee, to receive a copy of the information we hold about you to the extent that it constitutes your personal information. 4. Cookies

When you use our website, information will be stored or accessed on your computer (also known as ‘cookies’). KAITTS uses cookies to track our online marketing activity and to ensure that when you login into the Your Account secure area of the site, we maintain your confidentiality and security. A cookie does not contain any personal information unless it is attached to personal information collected another way, such as by means of an Application Form. You have the right to refuse such cookies. However, since access to the Your Account area, relies on us being able to identify you, refusing the use of cookies means that we will be unable to provide you with further access to our services.

5. Third Parties

Third party Internet sites that you can link to from our website are not covered by our privacy policy, so we urge you to be careful when you enter any personal information online. KAITTS accepts no responsibility or liability for these sites. Other companies which advertise or offer their products or services on our website may also allocate cookies to your PC. The types of cookies they use and how they use the information generated by them will be governed by their own privacy policies and not ours.
